Peace Corps

The Peace Corps, established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy, is a U.S. government agency dedicated to building world peace and friendship by providing trained Americans to serve in foreign communities in need. Its core mission is to promote better understanding of the United States in other countries and vice versa through cultural exchange and mutual learning experiences. While its headquarters are based in Washington D.C, Peace Corps volunteers serve in over 60 countries globally, spanning Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, and the Middle East.
